Joseph Clark (Boney Joe) grew up in West Deer Township and graduated in 1985. His long and distinguished tattooing career began in 1987 when he started tattooing himself and his friends. Since there were not many quality tattoo shops in the area, Joe decided to create a studio in his home. Flash forward to 1994 when he began studying the piercing works of Master Piercer Sebastian of CA. Joe started piercing clients and creating unique and custom tattoos in his studio until the opening of his shop two years later.
Not only has Joe helped launch the careers of several talented tattoo and piercing artists, he has also worked alongside the local medical community. In 2001, he and a friend teamed up and held seminars on proper piercing removal and care. Over a two year period, the seminar reached many areas of medicine from EMTS to operating and emergency room personnel. The material Joe helped create has been published in nursing textbooks to assist students on proper piercing procedures.
The business and its team of artists continue to hold the same high standards for excellence today as they did thirty years ago. Boney continues to be the master piercer of the shop and oversees the daily operations. However, in lieu of tattooing, Joe sells real estate with his wife, runs his metal fabricating shop, Fabricated Fantasies, and breeds Spinone Italiano pups.
